Today is the birthday of Glen David Brin (born October 6, 1950), scientist and author. He graduated from the California Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in astronomy. He followed this with a Master of Science in applied physics in 1978 and a Doctor of Philosophy in space science in 1981.David Brin has received the Hugo, Locus, Campbell and Nebula Awards. He is best known for his Uplift series of science fiction novels.
