Today is the birthday of Lafayette Ronald Hubbard (March 13, 1911 – January 24, 1986), science fiction author. He is better known as L. Ron Hubbard, the creator of Dianetics and Scientology. L. Ron Hubbard was/is a controversial public figure and a master storyteller. His literary output of more than 260 published novels, novelletes, short stories and screenplays continues to fascinate, thrill, frighten and inspire people.
